TOKYO OKA / TOK TCA 3822 is a fully automated, closed-loop etching (or ashing) equipment. It is designed for high throughput production of small- to medium-sized printed circuit boards (PCBs). The system features three distinct processes: pretreatment, etching/ashing, and post-processing. The pretreatment stage begins with automatic PCB loading. The PCBs are loaded onto a conveyor belt and move through a series of cleaning and rinsing processes. This helps to remove flux residues, grease, and other material, which can interfere with the etching/ashing process. The PCBs then pass through a solder-masking process, where a special resistive material is applied to protect desired areas from the etching/ashing agents. After pretreatment, the PCBs are moved into the etching/ashing chamber. This closed-loop chamber is designed to contain all noxious vapors, ensuring safe operation. The chamber contains two tanks that are filled with the etching/ashing agents. The unit can be set to use one or both of the tanks to produce a variety of etching/ashing profiles, ranging from coarse etching to fine etching. When the tanks are not in use, their contents are maintained in a separate tank to prevent contamination or atmospheric release. Once the etching/ashing process is complete, the PCBs are moved into the post-processing chamber. Here the PCBs are cleaned and heated to remove any remaining etching/ashing residues, and to dry the PCBs. The chamber also contains a baking process to help preserve the PCBs. Then the PCBs are unloaded and are ready to be soldered upon. TOK TCA3822 is a reliable and effective automated machine for etching/ashing of PCBs. Its precise temperature control, closed-loop containment, and programmable etching/ashing profiles ensure high quality results. This tool is an ideal choice for medium- to high-volume production of PCBs.
