BUCHI R 214 is an evaporator designed for the research and industrial production of samples. It is a high-performance rotary evaporator which offers efficient evaporation for both solvent extraction and low temperature distillation tasks. The evaporator is equipped with a heated dual-wall glass lined steel vessel with a built-in evaporative surface allowing it to hold up to two liters of sample. An electric height and tilt adjuster conveniently positions the application height, ideal for samples of various viscosities. The heated vessel is topped with a transparent co-polyester stainless steel cover with an inlet for the substances to be heated and an outlet for the vaporized product. A powerful and precise brushless motor with minimal vibration provides controlled rotational speed. An adjustable speed of up to 1,000 rpm enables efficient evaporation with minimal concentration of residues. The motor is attached to a metallic ruler for precise adjustment of the application level and easy scaling of the rotation speed. R 214 evaporator is designed to be used with an integrated pump to create vacuum. This powerful vacuum makes it possible to reduce the boiling point of the material inside the vessel to effectively evaporate the samples. Alternatively, the evaporator can also be used with an external vacuum source. The evaporator comes with an easy-to-use multi-function digital display that provides continuous indication of the rotation speed, temperature and time. An onboard microprocessor allows the user to recall up to eight programs and functions to access the desired results. The evaporator is cooled by a fan positioned under the device and features a heat sink with fins to disperse heat evenly. An onboard condenser cools the exhaust safely and prevents escape of any harmful vapors or liquids.
