Parylene deposition system.
SPECIALTY COATING SYSTEMS / SCS BHT-390 is a photoresist equipment used for lithography process applications on substrates ranging from rigid to flexible. It is formulated with a four component composition based on a blend of cresol novolac resins and an alkali-soluble additive mixture. The resin blend is dissolved in an amine-based solvent for broad flexibility and room-temperature processing. This system is composed of two components; SCS BHT-320 Photo-imageable Resin and SPECIALTY COATING SYSTEMS BHT-370 Developer. SPECIALTY COATING SYSTEMS / SCS BHT-320 contains the cresol novolac resin blend and can be used to coat metal, plastic, or ceramic surfaces. When exposed to light, it forms an image-resistant polymerized layer that can be resistant against chemicals, wear, and high temperatures up to 270°C. The developer is an alkaline liquid formulated with surfactants that allow it to quickly penetrate the unexposed photoresist, the polymerized layer is then quickly stripped to allow for the transfer of the image into the substrate surface. Due to its four component composition and its low odor character, it can be used in both cleanroom and benchtop applications. It also has a low temperature processing ability, which helps maintain the stability of the image. Additionally, the photoresist unit is designed to protect and control the integrity of the image where precision is needed in the lithography process. The machine has a wide range of compatibility with different types of substrates and higher shelf and processing temperatures than other resists. The image resolution obtained with the tool is always the highest achievable due to the excellent initial surface quality available in the substrate surfaces, not to mention the superior adhesion properties of the asset. Additionally, its stability, quick dry properties, and accuracy in the control of the images and mask make the photoresist model an excellent choice for lithography applications. As a general guideline, it has the potential to produce very high image resolution of 8 µm and exposure times in the range of only a few seconds, thus allowing for rapid production cycles. Given its multiple advantages, those seeking to develop lithography processes benefit from using SCS BHT-390, especially where high temperature and/or resolution needs to be addressed. Furthermore, while avoiding the addition of additional materials, such as a primer or stripper, which can present potential problems with other photoresist systems, the user can save time and material costs associated with developing the lithography processes.
