STEAG / MATTSON / AST AWP, also known as a "wet station," is an automated wastewater pretreatment equipment designed for commercial and industrial wastewater applications. The system is comprised of three primary components that work together to ensure total reduction of solids, organic matter and grease. The first component is an anaerobic digestion unit with an inground concrete tank. This process uses anaerobic bacteria to break down organic matter and reduce biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and total suspended solids (TSS) in the wastewater to meet discharge limits required by local regulations. An underground storage tank provides a storage area for the accumulated solids, grease, oil and other solids. The second component is a flocculation and sedimentation tank that removes suspended solids from the water. This is often done by adding coagulants and flocculants to the water, which causes solid particles to clump together (flocculation) and settle out of the water (sedimentation). The third component is a dissolved air flotation (DAF) tank where air bubbles are injected into the water, causing suspended solids to float to the top and skimmed off. In addition, this machine includes various helpful features such as: flow meters for monitoring tool performance, an odor control asset with chemical dosing, an influent screen to protect downstream equipment from debris and particulates, an aeration model to continually provide oxygen to the anaerobic digestion process and several chemical dosing pumps to allow for the chemical addition to control process parameters. Overall, AST AWP wet station offers a comprehensive solution for pre-treating commercial and industrial wastewater. It provides three stages of processing to ensure the highest levels of treatment and solids, organic matter and grease extraction. Furthermore, several features such as flow meters, an influent screen, aeration equipment and chemical dosing pumps enable users to quickly and reliably monitor and adjust process parameters. The wet station ensures wastewater meets discharge limits and is suitable for release into the environment.
