A STS / CPX Multiplex etcher/asher is an advanced microlithography tool used in the fabrication of microelectronic components. This tool performs patterning tasks for high-precision photolithography, packaging and assembly. It is used in a variety of industries such as integrated circuits, automotive parts, optoelectronics, hard disk drive fabrication, and biotechnology. STS Multiplex utilizes its Distributed Source Microlithography (DSM) technologies to accomplish its patterning tasks. The DSM is a flexible photolithography technique that enables precise pattern control from a single source. It allows multiple patterns to be provided from the same source layer, allowing for increased variety in the patterns and decreased waste of chemicals and materials. CPX Multiplex equipment includes a number of components to perform the photolithography. A modular component is located at the bottom of the system to provide power and control to the unit. An Intel Plus microcontroller is integrated into the component to allow the machine to be monitored and managed. For photolithography operations, the components included are a light-absorbing substrate, a light source, a detector, a scanner, and a drying chamber. The substrate absorbs light from the source and the detector monitors this absorption, which is analyzed by the scanner before the dried patterns are used to fabricate the component. The use of Multiplex enables faster and more precise pattern control. It is also compatible with a range of materials including polymers, metals, and dielectrics that are used for fabrication. Due to its ability to provide multiple patterns from a single source, STS / CPX Multiplex can produce patterns with maximum uniformity. With its high precision, it is an essential manufacturing tool for today's high-tech components.
