ESI 9820 is a pulsed Nd:YAG laser typically used for industrial welding and marking applications. It has a lasing wavelength of 1064nm, and is available in single or double pulsed versions with pulse repetition frequencies (PRF) up to 40 kHz. The laser sources a 1-2ns laser pulse which delivers a nominal power output of 1 - 5 watts. The laser is air cooled and includes a fully enclosed chiller module for glycol-cooled operation. This configuration ensures that peak, average and even pulse-to-pulse energy remain consistent. The laser beam is generated within a fully enclosed Nd:YAG rod and is initially reflected off of an AR coated dielectric pretender. The beam is then transmitted through a set of focusing lenses, out of the laser head, and into the application area. The beam wander is minimized and beam shapes of different sizes and shapes can be created by changing the focusing lenses. 9820 laser can be integrated easily into existing production processes and can be used for a wide range of operations including welding, cutting, soldering, engraving, surface marking, engraving names or initials. The laser is also suitable for drilled holes marking and micro laser machining. The laser beam can be directed while being pulsed allowing precise positioning of the beam during or between several pulses. Pulse shaping can be achieved through control of pulse-to-pulse energy levels as well as the number of consecutive pulses delivered at the same location. For enhanced user safety ESI 9820 laser is equipped with a control system that responds to the interference of laser radiation. The laser is certified to meet Class 1/1M safety standards, suitable for use in environments with children and non-technical personnel. In conclusion, 9820 laser is a versatile, high-performance laser system ideal for industrial laser welding, marking and machining applications. It is user-friendly, safe and easy to integrate into existing production processes.
