MEYER BURGER 268 is an automated crystal growing, sawing and slicing equipment. It is designed to produce polycrystalline substrates, concentric wedges, wafers and other structures in a controlled and efficient manner. The system is composed of several interconnected parts: the crystal growth chamber, the slicing and sawing station, and the cutter, loader, and unloader arm. The crystal growth chamber is where the crystal grows and is composed of a high-temperature furnace and an ultrasonic vibration unit. The furnace contains a number of salts that are heated to high temperatures to create a molten state. The molten material will then crystallize as the salts cool and deposit on the surface of the substrate. The ultrasonic vibration allows for faster crystal growth and is also used to continuously monitor the growth process. The slicing and sawing station is where the crystal is cut and sliced into the desired shape. A diamond-tipped blade is used to cut the crystal into the desired shape and size. The cutter, loader, and unloader arm is used to handle the crystal and place it into the sawing station. This arm can be adjusted to handle different sizes and shapes of crystal. Once cut and sliced, the crystal is then loaded onto the crystal transport machine. This tool carries the crystal to the polishing station where the crystal is treated to obtain its best optical qualities. After polishing, the crystal is then placed in the optics chamber which is where it's mounted and secured in preparation for inspection and eventual shipment. 268 asset is ideal for crystal growth, sawing and slicing of crystals. It is a highly automated model that is easy to use and capable of producing high-quality results with minimal intervention. The equipment is capable of producing structures that include concentric wedges, entire substrates, and single crystals up to 40 millimeters in diameter.
