AEROFLEX IFR MLS 800 is an electronic test equipment equipment designed to meet the diverse needs of telecommunications and avionics professionals. It is a versatile, cost-effective, and user-friendly instrument that provides fast, reliable measurements. MLS 800 offers a wide range of measurement capabilities including frequency, power level, modulation/demodulation, in-channel distortion and spurious signals, harmonic and spurious measurements, ISI/phase control, jamming margin tests, and dual-channel response or bit error rate measurements. The IFR AEROFLEX IFR MLS 800 has a wide range of frequency coverage, spanning 2 megahertz (MHz) to 8 gigahertz (GHz). It has a low residual noise floor of -135 dBm/Hz. In addition, MLS 800 has a wide dynamic range that allows for consistent measurement of signals from low frequencies to high frequencies, as well as signals with large dynamic variation. It also has very fast sweeping frequency response, with quick sweep rates that range from 1 kilohertz (kHz) to 8 GHz in less than 1 milliseconds (µs). AEROFLEX IFR MLS 800 also has a unique high speed channelizing feature, allowing the user to scan up to a million and a half points in about 2 seconds. MLS 800 has a wide range of modulation and demodulation capabilities. It supports several modulations, including FM/AM/SSB, GSM, CDMA, and WCDMA. It can also demodulate FSK, ASK, QAM, and PSK signals. Additionally, AEROFLEX IFR MLS 800 features a comprehensive set of features, including two-tone and three-tone testing capabilities, modulation analysis, Auto Level Control (ALC), signal synthesis, spectral analysis, and GSM burst measurement analysis. The system is also equipped with a variety of PC-based control options including a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI is intuitive, allowing users to control the unit with a few keystrokes. It also allows for remote control of the IFR MLS 800 via a modem, a universal serial bus (USB) connection, or an Ethernet connection. In addition, the IFR AEROFLEX IFR MLS 800 has a number of built-in safety features to protect the instrument from damage. These features include over-voltage protection, thermal protection, and reverse polarity protection. MLS 800 also has an automatic antenna switching machine to prevent antenna overload.
