TEKTRONIX AWG 420 is a dual-channel, arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) designed to provide cost-effective, industry-leading signal generation capabilities for testing, debugging, and development applications. The instrument includes a 16-bit, 125 MS/s, 500 MHz or 1 GS/s, 350 MHz sample rate digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and a 16-level digital-to-analog (D/A) converter. This combination provides the precision and the flexibility required to accurately replicate and generate a wide variety of signals for ATE applications and prototyping. In addition to its internal waveform memory, AWG 420 also supports external waveform input from PC-based software, including SCPI commands for downloading waveforms via the RS-232/RS-485 port. In addition, TEKTRONIX AWG 420 offers an optional internal pulse pattern editor (PPE) to generate and edit static pulse patterns with a set of powerful editing and control commands. The internal memory on the unit contains 4 million samples, expandable to 16 million samples with the optional memory banks. The pulse patterns range from pulse burst signal generation for high frequency tests to sine, square, triangle, sawtooth, chirp, and more. In addition to the standard output signal channels, AWG 420 includes a reference sync channel that can be set to a frequency of 1 kHz to 10 MHz with 1-microHz resolution, as well as a muxed digital SMART sync pulse. The SMART sync is programmable such that the pulse width can be changed to between 0 ms-556 ms. The output power of TEKTRONIX AWG 420 can be independently adjusted across the two channels, with a maximum output voltage of 15V (20V DC). AWG 420 offers a wide variety of modulation types, such as AM, FM, and PM, as well as an automated wavform sequence generator (ASG) to produce a repeating sequence of waveforms for signal testing and monitoring applications. TEKTRONIX AWG 420 also features fine-grain digital input and output ports, allowing for direct waveform manipulation using the built-in AWG editor. This editor allows users to manually create, edit, and sequence short waveforms directly on AWG 420, without the need for a dedicated PC or software. The user interface is simple and intuitive, with a built-in Help tab to aid in operation. With its powerful set of features and capabilities, TEKTRONIX AWG 420 is an ideal solution for testing, debugging, and development applications.
