K&S 1419-3 is a three-part electrically-conductive silver filled epoxy used for bonding, sealing, and coating electrical assemblies and components. It is ideal for applications requiring high electrical conductivity and resistance to environmental extremes. 1419-3 consists of a base component, a catalyst component, and an optional tint component to provide a color coded identification. The base component contains silver-filled epoxy resin, while the catalyst component contains an organic peroxide and an amine activator. Mixing the two components produces a full-cure with the high-strength of an epoxy system while providing the electrical conductivity of silver. K&S 1419-3 has excellent adhesion to metals, glass, ceramics, and many plastics. It bonds and seals by filling gaps between two substrates and forms a flexible gasket to prevent air and moisture entry. It also is resistant to vibration and thermal cycling. The epoxy is thermally conductive and non-corrosive. Heat curing is achieved within a few minutes depending on the bonding, potting, or encapsulation application. 1419-3 has excellent corrosion resistance. An optional black pigment is added to provide true shielding that is capable of containing EMI/RFI radiation within the assembly. Its low-shrink formula and fast cure allows for tight build up of internal components. It is used in both indoor and outdoor applications. The product is designed to meet UL and RoHS standards. For safety purposes, it is important to follow recommended safety precautions when working with K&S 1419-3. It is flammable and can cause irritation if exposed to skin or eyes. Wear protective gear, such as gloves, respirators, or full body protective gowns, when handling this epoxy.
