LABCONCO Centrivap is a centrifuge that is designed specifically for laboratory use. The device is designed to rapidly concentrate and evaporate small volume, delicate samples with nominal manual control. This is done through a combination of reduced sample volumes, centrifugal force, and vacuum, to produce high-speed evaporation on cold-traps and reduced sample volumes of up to 250mL. Centrivaps come in both standard and chilled models in order to better suit the type of sample being evaporated. The standard model is ideal for light to moderate evaporation of solutions that do not require a chilled environment. This model comes equipped with a centrifugal pump which is capable of generating up to 11 liters per minute (LPM) of vacuum, as well as, a 4 Liter chamber for sample collection. The chamber is equipped with an adjustable rotational speed of up to 5000 rpm and can generate temperatures of up to 100C for enhanced evaporation rates. Additionally, the unit can be operated in either a continuous or intermittent manner. The chilled model, on the other hand, is ideal for evaporation of sensitive samples like enzymes, proteins, and nucleic acids. This model is equipped with a receiver-cooler that uses a chilling circulator that can keep temperatures at desired negative temperatures, ranging from 5-50C. In addition to the chilled receiver-cooler, the device also has a high-capacity vacuum pump capable of creating a vacuum of up to 27 liters of mercury (Hg). Lastly, Centrivap is also equipped with non-volatile memory so that frequently used programs and recipes may be recalled with just the press of one button. This eliminates the tedious task of having to enter the settings each time you need to use the device.
