LAM RESEARCH 2080 is a recirculating, heat exchanger-based chiller optimized for use in semi-conductor manufacturing. Featuring an adaptable modular design and self-diagnosis capability, LAM RESEARCH 20/80 can be integrated easily into systems with a variety of cooling capacities, allowing optimal performance and cost savings. The refrigerator core of 2080 is comprised of five basic parts: a compressor, condenser, receiver, expansion valve and evaporator. The compressor takes in refrigerant gas and compresses it, then passes it to the condenser where heat is absorbed from the surrounding environment. The receiver collects the refrigerant and stores it for later use. The expansion valve controls the flow of refrigerant from the receiver to the evaporator. The evaporator is where the vapourized refrigerant is further cooled and ultimately drawn out of the equipment. 20/80 uses a two-stage heat exchange structure to cool fluid. The first stage uses a cooling system to draw thermal energy from the process stream. This stage is optimized to take advantage of ambient temperatures and humidity, allowing the chiller to achieve high levels of efficiency. The second stage uses a refrigerant, typically Freon-ammonia, to reduce the process stream temperature even further. Additionally, the chiller can use an internal pre-cooler or re-heater - a counter-flow heat exchanger - to improve efficiency. The chiller is equipped with a self-diagnostic capability to monitor its functions. The unit includes several sensors and gauges that can detect abnormalities in fluid temperature and other aspects of the machine. This feedback is used to adjust the chiller's operating temperature and ensure maximum efficiency and reliability. Additional features of LAM RESEARCH 2080 include an integrated flow control valve, a control plus user interface and a comprehensive LCD Display with its host of visual indications. LAM RESEARCH 20/80 is designed to be user-friendly, reliable and robust with a low total cost of ownership. The chiller can operate in a diverse range of environmental conditions and meet stringent standards for noise, vibration and electrical power consumption. Further, the engineering and manufacturing processes for the chiller are carefully monitored to ensure its performance over its lifetime.
