Logic analysis system.
AGILENT / HP / HEWLETT-PACKARD / KEYSIGHT 16500A Logic Analyzer is an electronic test equipment designed to enable the user to perform non-intrusive measurements up to 500 MHz for timing and up to 400 MHz for state and protocol on digital logic devices. The 17-slot modular mainframe and high-speed scanning electromechanical switching technology offer significant scalability and flexibility in test capability. HP 16500A mainframe support up to 8 logic analyzer modules. Depending on the module type, the number of channels available can range from 24 to 48. In state mode, each input channel can be configured as a source for a pattern trigger using edge, level or bus-state triggering. A pattern trigger can be applied across the group of channels that's 4 groups of 36 data and/or address bits. A pattern trigger can also be synchronised with a bit in a time domain window or during a particular state of an internal counter. The memory buffer is further configurable to hold separate sections between a setup and data sections. The setup area provides space to store various trigger and analysis setup parameters which the user can access using the analysis controls of the logic analyzer. The data section can hold time-correlated digital logic information in varying lengths up to 64 million points. The logic analyzer also provides multiple timing clocks that can enable users to monitor both single cycle and multiple cycle events. The various trigger sources available include Voltage, state, state or set-reset, edge, align, counter, periodic and pulse, external and a large collection of pattern triggers. The analysis features that are available include pattern tests, state decode, Graphical Timing Analysis (GTA), multiple waveform analysis window and Go/No go tests. The user interface of the logic analyzer is designed for an intuitive approach towards the setup and control of measurements. Another important aspect of the logic analyzer is that it is distributed on a local area network and can be remotely controlled by a computer via the GPIB Bus. The combination of a wide range of functions coupled with a well-defined approach for efficient setup and control makes AGILENT 16500A Logic Analyzer an extremely valuable tool for debugging complex digital logic systems.
