Frequency Counter
Measurements displayed in meaningful units
Reduced switching requirements
Measurements to 3 GHz with -23.5 dBm sensitivity, a 30.5 dB dynamic range, and a damage level of +25 dBm
Half-rack width saves rack space
Optional high-stability ovenized oscillator offers greater accuracy
Measurements Displayed
Controlled via HP-IB, the display can be used for messages and operator prompts, or even blanked for security. Measurements are displayed in your choice of units. The number of digits displayed can be varied from the front panel or HP-IB.
Reduced Switching
Frequency measurements from 10 Hz to 3 GHz are made with two input ports, instead of three, for reduced switching.
Option 004 = Ovenized Oscillator.
AGILENT / HP / HEWLETT-PACKARD / KEYSIGHT 5386A, produced by HP corporation, is a multi-channel dual-trace frequency response analyzer that is capable of measuring a variety of electrical signals up to a frequency of 30 kHz. This instrument is ideal for testing and design applications, providing a good balance between accuracy, resolution, and flexibility. HP 5386A offers a number of features and functions tailored towards specific applications. It has a standard input dynamic range of 100 dB and a basic frequency response range from 1 hertz (Hz) to 30 kHz. It can sweep a frequency range 300 times faster than most traditional frequency response analyzers, and includes an optional high-speed Time-Domain Upgrade. This upgrade increases the sweep speeds from 600 sweeps/second to up to 12,000 sweeps/second. AGILENT 5386A is equipped with four independent channels, each of which has its own input sensitivities and capable of being tuned throughout the frequency range. It can also be used for simultaneous measurements on two independent channels. KEYSIGHT 5386A also has a dedicated frequency zoom function, allowing it to be used to quickly and precisely measure very small changes in a signal's frequency at widely separated frequencies. This feature supports measurements on signals originating from 0.2 Hz to 200 MHz, and can be automated for measurements in as little as two microseconds. This versatile measurement system has a wide variety of uses. From the conventional use in laboratory and development environments, to industry-specific applications such as medical and automotive testing. It can be used to measure frequency response, phase response, harmonic distortion, and gain/loss, among other parameters. HEWLETT-PACKARD 5386A is a USB 2.0 compatible instrument, allowing it to be connected to a computer or other devices for automated data logging, as well as remote control. It also has a built-in LCD screen for quick monitoring, and a built-in printer port to print results. Overall, 5386A is a powerful yet affordable instrument suitable for any size operation. With its range of functions and capabilities, it can address a wide variety of testing and design applications, and its versatility makes it a great choice for many laboratories and industry tasks.
