AGILENT / HP / HEWLETT-PACKARD / KEYSIGHT 6286A is an electronic test equipment used in laboratory, quality assurance and production testing of high-performance systems for the assessment of quality, performance, and reliability. HP 6286A is capable of providing phase noise and harmonic distortion measurements for signals with frequencies up to 500 MHz with accuracy down to 0.1 dB. The instrument consists of two parts: the mainframe and an array of six multifunction plug-in modules. The mainframe has a maximum total of eight plug-in modules, but only six of these are dedicated to AGILENT 6286A configuration. It is powered by an external AC power supply and has five operating modes: manual, automatic, continuous, single, and multi-shot measurements. 6286A permits voltage and power measurements, as well as time domain analysis for determining the Spectral Model, and direct analysis of phase/amplitude and harmonic distortion characteristics. KEYSIGHT 6286A is also equipped with a built-in sweep timer that automatically selects the appropriate sweep rate for the measurements for up to six different multi-shot measurements. The instrument also contains handy features such as frequency readout on the frequency counter display and relative amplitude and harmonic distortion measurements without the need to connect additional external test equipment. HEWLETT-PACKARD 6286A is also capable of measuring output harmonic capability of any device from DC to 500MHz. In fact, AGILENT / HP / HEWLETT-PACKARD / KEYSIGHT 6286A provides residual amplitude modulation measurement capabilities as well as impulse response measurements. Additionally, due to its open architecture design, HP 6286A can readily be converted to a more powerful phase noise analyzer. This conversion is easily done by purchasing the required phase noise test set option. Finally, AGILENT 6286A offers a number of capabilities that provide fast and easy testing, including automatic self-calibration, a compressed display mode to better visualize and analyze data, and a variety of other features that facilitate and improve the measurements. Additionally, 6286A also offers powerful software programs that allow users to create custom test sequences, analyze the gathered data, and also print measured results. In summary, KEYSIGHT 6286A can provide a wide range of measurements from DC to 500MHz, including voltage and power measurements, phase noise and harmonic distortion measurements, phase/amplitude and harmonic distortion characterizations, impulse response assessments, and residual amplitude modulation measurements. Its open architecture design also permits easy conversion to a phase noise analyzer for more sensitive applications. The instrument also provides automatic self-calibrations and powerful software programs for easier data analysis.
