HP 8514B is a high-precision, wideband, scanning vector network analyzer capable of measuring signals from 500 KHz to 67 GHz. This extended bandwidth allows for accurate analysis of wireless and optical signals. The internal test receiver used to perform the external frequency measure is highly sensitive and allows for accurate measurement even with signal levels as low as -138 dBm. HEWLETT-PACKARD 8514B also has a built-in signal generator capable of providing signals from 500 KHz to 67GHz. The signal generator does not have an associated power meter and instead measures signal strength by only looking at the power compared to a noise floor. This prevents any need for a power meter and greatly reduces the complexity of the test set up. 8514B utilizes two displays to monitor its parameters in real-time. The first is a 3.2 inch active matrix LCD and the second is a 20×4 character LCD. Both displays can show the current test parameter readings, as well as perform any diagnostics or troubleshooting tasks. KEYSIGHT 8514B also includes a number of features to facilitate easy printing and data storage. The instrument comes with a 3.5 inch floppy disk drive, and can store all test data in popular formats such as CSV, HTTP, and binary. It also has a built- in printer port that allows for easy printing of test results.
