Network analyzer.
AGILENT / HP / HEWLETT-PACKARD / KEYSIGHT 8752A is a network analyzer that is widely used for testing and characterizing electrical networks and components. HP 8752A, first released in 1988, is part of a long-standing line of network analyzers, and the core body design has not changed significantly since its release. Its primary purpose is to measure the S-parameter of transmission networks and components, aiding in various aspects of engineering research, development, and production. AGILENT 8752A measures the electrical characteristics of components or sub-circuits of RF networks and is capable of measuring up to four S-parameters at a time. Additionally, HEWLETT-PACKARD 8752A is equipped with an automatic impedance mismatch compensation (AIMMC) system which allows accurate measurements at high power and over wide temperature ranges. 8752A is a two port vector network analyzer. The two ports, designated as S1 and S2, can be used together with a number of devices including amplifiers, filters, attenuators, hybrid splitters, and directional couplers. Input measurements can range from 10 kHz to 50 GHz. The output power of the instrument can be adjusted from -50 dBm to +20 dBm with a resolution of 0.1 dBm (max. output power is +21 dBm). KEYSIGHT 8752A includes a range of features including Agilents automatic gain compensation (AGC), an ample selection of noise sources and receiver preamplifiers, an extensive range of mixers, and a range of software applications such as 8754A Power Splitter for measuring S-parameter data. An integral computer controlled oscilloscope is also provided for displaying S-parameter data and other electrical characteristics such as impulse response and maximum undistorted output level. As well as S-parameter measurement, AGILENT / HP / HEWLETT-PACKARD / KEYSIGHT 8752A can measure insertion loss, return loss, group delay, and scattering parameters. An RF vector voltmeter is also integrated into HP 8752A, which is capable of frequency response measurements, time domain measurements, and directivity and source match measurements. For display of test results on a computer, connection to an external PC is provided. AGILENT 8752A also features a number of display features, including an integrated vector display, a Smith chart, a histogram display of frequency response, a limited spectrum analyzer capability, a trigger level meter, and adjustable waveforms. HEWLETT-PACKARD 8752A is a highly modifiable device, making it easy to adapt to any test need. The modular format of 8752A series allows users to tailor their instruments according to project requirements. This length of instrument life and its widespread popularity have allowed KEYSIGHT 8752A to become a well-established standard in the electronics industry.
