It is a powerful and highly integrated mobile communications tester designed for product development, conformance, certification, and service applications for LTE and UMTS devices. The 8960 series 10 boasts the industry's fastest conformance and programming throughput, increased DDR3 RAM and faster processor, and a newly designed slot architecture. The 8960 Series 10 provides an integrated host and PC based test setup, with a single PC for both design verification and conformance testing, allowing for quick test turnaround, ease of use and faster development cycles. The combination of hardware and software solutions provides optimal utilization of resources and cost reduction. The Series 10 is designed to support multiple physical layer test requirements. It includes two built-in 3GPP transmitter and one 3GPP receiver test set. The hardware includes two dual-band antenna ports to support improved performances on two frequency bands. The built-in receiver test set includes all of the RF tests needed for conformance testing, as well as a range of options for enhanced coverage such as multi-interface and carrier aggregation testability. The 8960 Series 10 also features a highly configurable test suite, including the standard protocols and transport layers specified by 3GPP. The software suite is designed for automated testing of the full range of user equipment, including UE categories 0, 1 and 2, and meets multiple operational modes including enhanced services and VoIP. Additionally, the 8960 Series 10 incorporates error rate emulation capability, which provides the user with complete protocol level control of the test environment and helps ensure accurate simulation of real life conditions, such as protocol and call control errors. The Series 10 can also be used to emulate a wide range of network and traffic types, such as HSPA, HSUPA and HSDPA, and HSDPA+ and enhanced DCH (eDCH). To support operations such as multi-interface and carrier aggregation, the 8960 Series 10 can be used to select multiple frequency bands, and to configure multi-interface connections, making it a key test solution for next-generation device certification. The 8960 Series 10 offers advanced scripting functions to automate tests and reduce the complexity of conformance testing. It supports a wide range of scripting capabilities including custom scripting and scripting from 3GPP conformance resources and other third-party sources.
