ANRITSU SiteMaster S331E is an electronic test equipment designed to measure the frequency-dependent characteristics of signal transmission lines at radio and microwave frequencies. The instrument can be used to measure S-parameters, reflection coefficient, insertion loss, VSWR, First/Second /Third harmonics, and Second order intermodulation distortion. SiteMaster S331E consists of a main analyzer unit and accessories. The main analyzer unit houses the frequency generator, frequency mixer, frequency discriminator, and digitizing circuits which allow the instrument to measure transmission line characteristics up to microwave frequencies. The frequency generator section consists of three frequency synthesizers, the first two being wideband frequency-agile synthesizers spanning 20 MHz - 4.2 GHz and 500 MHz - 6.2 GHz. The third synthesizer is a narrow band source limited in coverage from +50 MHz to -50 MHz offset from the primary frequency. The frequency mixer allows the instrument to inject a test signal from the reference oscillator into the transmission line device under test (DUT), and mixes the reflected signal and the competing signals generated from the second and third harmonic mixers. The frequency discriminator then separates the signals and enables the instrument to measure the various parameters of the DUT. ANRITSU SiteMaster S331E also features a measurement memory, 10,000 data points per measurement, and a user-friendly graphical interface with a full-color display. It is also equipped with an automated calibration sequence which allows the instrument to be calibrated up to six times faster than the prior version. SiteMaster S331E is ideal for use in applications such as the evaluations of antennas, customer premise wiring and equipment, passives, on-site engineering studies, and for monitoring transmission lines in high-tech manufacturing plants.
