BIRD 4522-002-5 is an RF wattmeter, designed for view and logging of RF measurements. This wattmeter is ideal for measuring the output of an RF amplifier or indicative of the existing system performance. The wattmeter utilizes a frequency dependent directional coupler to measure and display the mean value of the power in the forward and reverse directions of a system. The wattmeter is constructed with a nonvolatile memory which allows recall of peak and mean meter readings. 4522-002-5 RF wattmeter utilizes a two line Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) which displays the measured value of forward and reverse power values. This wattmeter operates in the range of 100kHz to 1000MHz, and provides four power ranges which can be set manually via the dial on the front of the wattmeter. On the front of the wattmeter are also two buttons, which are used to reset the peak and mean values, as well as to toggle between the peak, mean and total display modes, which can be viewed on the LCD. In addition, the wattmeter has an Auto Range mode, which allows for a continuous measurement range that can be used for time-varying measurements. This wattmeter also has an internal audio buzzer for audible alarms, which can be set to notify the user of under and over range measurements as well as other malfunctions or faults. On the back of the wattmeter are several connection ports. These include an AC power supply socket for a low voltage power source and a 6-pin DIN port for connection to an external computer or printer. There is also a 9-pin RS-232 data port that can be used to interface to the wattmeter through the included software. An in-circuit calibration calibration port is also available on the back of the wattmeter which is used to calibrate its internal components. BIRD 4522-002-5 includes an intuitive user interface, which allows for quick and easy an operation. The wattmeter is also capable of taking up to 16 readings per second and saving them on the device's internal memory. This wattmeter is powered by a 9 Volt battery and is therefore completely portable. Overall, 4522-002-5 is an ideal choice for view and logging of RF power measurements providing both intuitive portability and reliable performance.
