EG&G / PRINCETON APPLIED RESEARCH 5207 is a high performance digital signal generator designed specifically for microwave and high frequency test applications. It is a highly versatile instrument that can generate a variety of signals in the range of 0.2 to 18 GHz. It is designed for use in a wide variety of test and measurement applications including communications, radar, navigation, satellite and other military and aerospace applications. The heart of EG&G 5207 is a direct digital synthesizer (DDS) that produces clean signals with low spurious content as well as low phase noise. This system offers excellent dynamic range and high output resolution and can generate any signal from single-tone CW, single-amplitude multiple-tone, and stepped-frequency signals to complex modulation functions with modulation bandwidths up to 1 MHz. Standard modulation functions include AM, FM, PM, FSK, Asymmetric FSK, Pulse, Sweep, and Multi-Phase signals. PRINCETON APPLIED RESEARCH 5207 features a bright 6.4" color LCD screen as well as a convenient keyboard and touchpad for local control. This user interface makes it easy to set up, monitor, and adjust parameters during test and measurement operations. Additionally, there is an IEEE-488 (GPIB) interface that allows the user to remote control 5207 from any GPIB-compliant device. EG&G / PRINCETON APPLIED RESEARCH 5207 offers a variety of output power levels that range from -45 to +17 dBm and can be set in increments as fine as 0.1 dB. Output power accuracy is +/-0.5 dB (@ 0 dBm output power). EG&G 5207 can handle up to 40 dB of dynamic range and provides an output Impedance of 50 ohms. It also features an internal synthesized LNA and external RF preselector to suit system requirements. PRINCETON APPLIED RESEARCH 5207 system is housed in a rugged and durable 19-inch rack-mountable enclosure and is designed for continuous operation with the ability to withstand extended periods of use without failure. 5207 is an extremely reliable instrument and is designed to offer years of reliable service in testing and measurement applications.
