INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS LCI-SMV100A is an electronic test equipment used in the telecommunications and information technology industries. It can be used to test for a variety of compliance standards. LCI-SMV100A is a handheld, one button instrument designed for specifying and testing TIA/EIA-568A/B Telecommunications Cabling Systems. It is designed to pass the requirements of a full Link/Channel characterization as defined by the TIA-568A/B Standard. The instrument includes a variety of internal test functions which enable it to measure electrical parameters such as Return Loss, Propagation Delay Skew, Delay Loss Skew, Attenuation, Length, and Voltage Reflection Coefficient (VRC). It also has a PC based system for further analysis, data storage and printing results. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS LCI-SMV100A is used in support of a variety of cabling installations such as telephone lines, LAN wiring, Fibre Optic links, wireless networks and coaxial antenna systems. The instrument functions allow the installer to quickly verify that cable installation meets TIA/EIA cable requirements. LCI-SMV100A can be used to generate a DTDR graph which illustrates the transmission characteristics of the cable under test. This graph shows the Return Loss, Gain, Delay and VSWR on a graph, making the determination of compliance to the TIA/EIA cabling standard easier. The instrument itself is designed for straightforward operation and can run in three different modes - facility, link and channel. The Facility mode is used to test cables at the hub and is ideal for measuring Return Loss, Skew, Left and Right gain, and Voltage Reflection Coefficient. The Link mode allows tests to be done on cables between hub and jack. This mode is best used for measuring the Return Loss, Attenuation, Length and Impedance of the test cable. The Channel mode is used to test cables between two jacks and is the ideal way to measure the Propagation Delay and Skew. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS LCI-SMV100A is a powerful tool and an invaluable asset in the telecommunication and IT industries. With its wide range of features it is an easy and efficient way to ensure that the cabling system meets the industry standard. By allowing TIA/EIA compliant cables to be installed quickly and accurately, LCI-SMV100A reduces installation time and thus cost. Equally importantly, it ensures that telecommunication and IT systems are installed in compliance with the standards, helping to reduce downtime and maximize the network performance.
