OXFORD / FISCHER X RAY XULM is a specialized test equipment used for the purpose of radiographic analysis of a wide range of materials. It consists of x-ray generator, x-ray optical equipment and x-ray detectors, and is used to assess the external condition of a given material, assess the integrity of its internal structure, and detect any potential flaws. OXFORD XULM x-ray generator is an adjustable voltage and current device. It consists of an anode, cathode and control circuit that generate an x-ray beam suitable for most materials. To adjust the energy and intensity of the x-ray beam, users can modify the anode voltage from 21 to 225 kV and the anode current from 0.5 to 12 mA. The x-ray optical system focuses the x-ray beam to a point or line. For the point focus unit, FISCHER X RAY XULM includes four fixed, interchangeable anode cups that provide: a 1 cm diameter focus spot at 70 kV; a 0.4 cm focus spot at 110 kV; and a 0.2 cm focus spot at 200 kV. For the line focus machine, the anode cup is adjustable and allows users to set the x-ray beam focus width from 0.1 mm up to 1000 mm. XULM detector tool is used to capture and analyze the x-ray beam. It consists of one to five individual detectors and can be customized to different applications. Depending on the x-ray tube voltage setting, the detectors are categorized as either fluorescent screens (handles 20 to 80 kV x-ray beams) or semiconductor detectors (handles 80 to 225 kV x-ray beams). The former consists of four screens - CRT, Germanium, Fluorescent and Galena. These screens measure intensity and exposure time of the x-ray beam. The semiconductor detectors convert x-rays into electric current, allowing users to record the imaging data of the x-ray beam in digital form. When in use, the x-ray beam is directed at a given material and the detector asset captures and registers the x-ray pattern created. This x-ray image gives valuable insights about the integrity of the material in question. OXFORD / FISCHER X RAY XULM model is a useful tool for non-destructive testing (NDT) in a variety of industries such as manufacturing, engineering, and construction. It is cost effective and easy to use, making it an ideal choice for small and medium sized operations.
