ROHDE & SCHWARZ CMW-KW800 is an advanced electronic test equipment for measuring W-CDMA and 3GPP W-CDMA signals in the frequency range of 5 MHz to 13 GHz. It is based on the combination of a powerful Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and the latest technologies such as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Double Direct Conversion (DDCS). The modular design allows for easy integration of CMW-KW800 into existing testing and measurements environment. It consists of a mainframe, an RF measurement unit and a baseband measurement unit with an optional GPS aerial. The mainframe is connected to the RF and baseband measurement units. The RF measurement unit provides the general measurements like power, frequency, and spectrum analysis in the frequency range of 5 MHz to 13 GHz. It features two independent signal paths and two independent A/D converters to measure both the uplink and downlink bands simultaneously. The baseband measurement unit includes 8 parallel DSP cores to perform fast baseband processing. ROHDE & SCHWARZ CMW-KW800 offers a complete suite of measurement software, providing the user with all the necessary tools for testing and characterizing wireless signals in 3GPP W-CDMA, 3GPP2 W-CDMA, and IEEE 802.16 OFDM networks. Additionally, some of the supported features include antenna characterization, 3GPP/3GPP2 protocol conformance and multiband interoperability tests, Power Control, Handover, and Adaptive Modulation/Coding (AMC) measurements. CMW-KW800 also includes features to test the quality of a 3GPP/3GPP2 or IEEE 802.16 network, such as Signal-to-Noise Ratio, signal coverage, and frequency accuracy. Furthermore, the instrument has an advanced data analysis capability which includes a variety of signal statistics, layer demodulation, and protocol decoding capabilities.
