Plasma asher.
BRANSON / IPC PM-132 is an advanced etcher/asher designed as a multi-purpose processing equipment for medium-to-large batch production of printed circuit boards (PCBs). This advanced etcher/asher system employs unique, laser-enabled modular processing technology to provide complete precision metal surface treatment for printed circuit boards. Standard electronics industry materials may be used, including copper, aluminum, magnesium, gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and titanium. IPC PM-132 includes an independent heavily-shielded, pressure-resistant chamber which houses a heat-resistant robotic arm and an attached precision nozzle. The etcher/asher is designed to perform a range of operations from sequenced etching, acid ashing, plasma and diode etching, and vacuum-assisted ashing. The PCB is held securely in place by clamps mounted in the chamber, allowing for an even and consistent application of the etchant or asher material. In addition, the robotic arm is designed to position and adjust the application nozzles with precise accuracy. BRANSON PM-132 allows for the management of multiple etching and/or ashing operations, due to the sophisticated control unit. The control unit calculates flow rates and monitor etch/ash rate and application duration. This allows for more precise control of the etch/ash rate and uniform etch/ash application over the PCB. In addition, the control unit can be programmed to execute pre-set etching and/or ashing sequences. This includes setting up time cycles and controlling the unit parameters (temperature, pressure, flow, etc.) to meet the requirements of specific etching and/or ashing operations. Besides providing the user with complete control of etching and/or ashing operations, PM-132 etcher/asher also features high levels of safety. It has an advanced fume control machine, pressurized nozzles to ensure that etchant fumes do not escape from the chamber, and a carbon dioxide (CO2) scrubbing tool that neutralizes any corrosive gasses. These additional features make BRANSON / IPC PM-132 an ideal choice for medium-to-large batch production of printed circuit boards. The effective etching and/or ashing achieved with this etcher/asher asset provides the user with a reliable and long-lasting results.
