Etcher.
BRANSON / IPC S2100 is a batch-processing etcher / asher that has been designed for use in a wide variety of industrial applications. This single-chamber equipment is designed to etch and ash thin-film membranes, laminates, PCBs and metalizing substrates such as copper. It is a wet etcher, with an etchant solution that is heated to the desired temperature before etching/ashing. The chamber of IPC S2100 is constructed of stainless steel and is fitted with an 18-by-18 inch door for easy loading and unloading of substrates. It is a fully automated system with a hotplate, lift arm and lift frame for loading and unloading. There is an optional top-mounted quartz block for enhanced radiation protection. The unit features a liquid etchant delivery machine for etching and ashing that is composed of three elements: the etchant chamber, the delivery line and the delivery nozzle. The etchant chamber is heated by an external source to a temperature of up to 220°C (428°F). The etchant is fed from this chamber to the delivery line and out from a nozzle to the substrate. The flow rate of the etchant solution is adjustable, which allows for precise etching and ashing. The heated etchant solution etches and ashes the substrate, depending on the etching agent used. Both etching and ashing can be completed in one cycle with this tool, as the heated etching solution can be used to both etch and ash at the same time. The etchant solution can also be recycled, allowing for more efficient use of the etchant material. The asset also features a closed-loop purging model to ensure that the etchant solution is consistently clean and free from contamination. The purging equipment also significantly reduces any waste produced during the etching process. BRANSON S2100 is a high-quality, industrial-grade etcher / asher, capable of producing uniform and high-quality etch and ash results in short processing times. This etcher / asher is suitable for use in a variety of industrial applications, and provides a reliable and cost-effective solution for membrane etching and ashing.
