BRANSON L3100/3 is an etcher/asher that is used for precise high-performance etching and/or ashing of printed circuit boards, semiconductor wafers, and other similar surfaces. This device offers a wide variety of features and capabilities, such as an adjustable etch depth, an adjustable filament temperature, a spot size of 140 μm, an etch duration of up to 20 minutes, and a maximum throughput of 10 wafers per hour. Additionally, it is also capable of processing up to 10 substrates simultaneously. The etcher/asher is designed for microelectronics applications and can be integrated into a clean-room environment. BRANSON L3100/3 is ideal for chip level process applications because it offers high precision, speed, and repeatability of etched and ashed features. It is powered by electricity and operates from a 32-inch wide motorized carriage. The etcher/asher has a flat, non-porous surface, which helps reduce the effect of electromagnetic radiation on the substrate. It also provides easy access to the four electrodes, allowing the user to adjust the etching and / or ashing parameters to their desired values. To ensure high etch rate, it operates at a pressure between -2.1 and 3.3 mbar and features an integrated temperature controller for precise temperature regulation. The etcher/asher comes with a basket that is built to fit the device. This basket holds up to 10 substrates in a single batch. It can also be loaded and unloaded quickly with the adjustable clamping pressure adjustment. The adjustable clamping pressure allows for a uniform etching process no matter the substrate size or type. Additionally, the use of nitrogen gas helps to avoid oxidation of the substrate during process. The etcher/asher includes a touch screen control panel from which the user can access all the functions of the device. The interface provides easy operation of the etcher/asher and has a clear and intuitive menu for setting the parameters and carrying out the etching/ashing process. The results can be printed on a chart record for further analysis. To ensure a safe etching operation, BRANSON L3100/3 etcher/asher is equipped with a safety cut-off switch, which shuts off the device if there is an overload or if any of the parameter settings are beyond the safe operating limits. Additionally, a low-maintenance design with no major maintenance requirements helps to reduce the downtime of the device.
