LAM 2300 is an advanced etcher / asher for the laboratry environment, capable of high precision etching and ashing of substrates up to 200 mm in size. The unit features three different etching technologies - inductive, resistive and cryogenic - allowing for a wide range of applications to be performed. The inductive etcher/ asher uses an inductive coil that creates an alternating magnetic field, inducing eddy currents in the component to create localized heating. This process produces minimal heat loss, allowing etching to take place on delicate components without damaging them. The resistive etcher / asher works by passing current through individual electrodes and creating a localized heating zone. This equipment requires a conversion of energy and is optimal for non-homogenous materials. The cryogenic process is the most precise of the etching technologies. It uses a liquid Nitrogen bath and a hybrid heat exchanger. This system works in two ways, with the coolant absorbing residual heat energy to reduce the temperature of the component and also vaporizing in order to create a vacuum, which cools the component even further. This process allows for ultra-fine etching and ashing results. In terms of safety, 2300 is equipped with an over-temperature warning unit, high-pressure containers for cooling and a pressure equalization machine for uniform etching temperatures, making it safe for the user. LAM 2300's advanced etching capabilities, precision and safety features make it an ideal choice for any etching and ashing needs in a laboratory setting. It is suitable for a wide range of materials, including semiconductor wafers, resistance materials and metals, and can be used to etch or ash a variety of shapes and sizes. Its integrated monitoring and control tool makes the process easier and more efficient, resulting in high-quality etch and ash results.
