MARCH PX-1000 is an advanced etcher or asher for research and development. It is designed to accurately etch complex shapes into components such as those used in semiconductor devices. MARCH PX 1000 utilizes a digital optical equipment to provide a high precision etching or ashing step in the process of creating circuits. PX-1000 utilizes a laser-based system to precisely etch into the material or substrate. This laser source consists of a Nd-Yag laser with pulse repetition rate up to 20 Hz. The beam is frequency doubled from 532nm to 266nm, and it has the ability to be modulated between 0.1um and 5mm. The laser power is adjustable between 20 and 200mW, and can be adjusted to account for different materials and process steps. PX 1000 is equipped with a control unit that allows for precise control of the laser power, stepsize, exposure time, pause and repeat. This control machine also enables continuous stepper movement for advanced patterns or patterns that require large shapes. It has a digital autofocus tool that adjusts the laser focus to the substrate at the start of an etching cycle, ensuring precision. For safety purposes, MARCH PX-1000 also has a pulse protection asset and a lock-out feature. The pulse protection model will stop the laser if it exceeds a predefined power threshold in order to protect the operator from accidental harm. The lock-out feature prevents the laser from operating if the operator is not in the immediate work area. MARCH PX 1000 is capable of processing most materials used in semiconductors and other electronic components effectively and quickly. It is particularly efficient with hard ceramics, plated metals, laminated materials, and polyimides. The performance and speed of this etching machine is limited only by its user's skill level and the resolution of the substrate material being processed.
