LEYBOLD HERAEUS ESV 6 UHV 270 is an evaporator designed for use in ultrahigvacuum (UHV) or extreme-high-vacuum (XHV) environments. The evaporation equipment is based on a steady-state diffusion pump and has an up to 6-fold carrier gas selection to allow for a wide range of usage. It is ideal for evaporating metals, gases, organic vapors, and inorganic liquids. ESV 6 UHV 270 features a two-stage diffusion pump to achieve high throughputs and steadier pressure performance. The modular gas flushing, with adjustable back-up pressure, allows for gas control and maintaining system parameters, such as mean free path and base pressure. The gas flushing allows for continuous evaporation with heats of up to 600°C and reduces load fluctuations to running levels. LEYBOLD HERAEUS ESV 6 UHV 270 is equipped with six 100 mm evaporation crucibles that can be coupled to the nozzle in order to minimize the evaporation tempature. The crucibles are suspended in a tungsten alloy holder, allowing for maximum thermal conductivity. The crucibles are also electrically heated with a high voltage very clean and easy to use resistance wire heating element. ESV 6 UHV 270 also offers very good performance of up to 5 l/h of metals or 35 l/h of gases and vapors. The outgassing unit allows for fast, safe and clean activation of the machine. The restarting of the process is smooth, even after long operating pauses. The monochromator, equipped with Laplacian optics and a high voltage blazed device, ensures very high optical brightness. This allows for the tool to remain transparent to the most energetic modern sources. The transfer optics includes two cameras: a beam scanner and an imaging mirror to provide the user with additional features. LEYBOLD HERAEUS ESV 6 UHV 270 is designed to provide reliable operation and process control, as well as user safety features. The asset can be operated in manual or automatic mode, and all components are provided with a wide range of safety and control features. Furthermore, temperature sensing and low maintenance, as well as long service life, have been achieved. The availability of an electronic logbook for recording all process parameters, as well as remote control, are additional advantages of ESV 6 UHV 270.
