DELTA TAU PMAC (Digital Enhanced Local Tick Authority Programmable Multifunctional Axis Controller) is an advanced motion controller for a wide range of industrial applications. It is used for controlling axis motion, spindle speed, and coordinated motion of axes. PMAC's user-friendly graphical programming interface, open architecture design and power supply up to 16 amplifiers, make it a cost-effective, reliable and flexible motion control solution. DELTA TAU PMAC is based on DELTA TAU Field Programmably Open Architecture (FPOA) that is composed of a PowerPMAC (Processor Module supporting the PC platform) and an Input/Output (I/O) module that are connected using an ethernet expansionLink. The I/O module is connected to the amplifiers with standard analog wiring and can be customized to support digital I/O and sensors. PMAC runs on a Real-Time operating equipment (RTOS) providing reliable and deterministic motion control performance. One of the key features of DELTA TAU PMAC is its ability to be programmed through the PowerPMAC, using the PowerGo Application Programming Interface (API). This API provides a framework with powerful software functions to implement complex motion applications. Through the API, the user may write their own motion programs and Graphic User Interface (GUI) components, to create a user friendly interface. Additionally, PMAC offers exceptional performance and a wide variety of advanced features. These features include accel/decel time, spindle synchronization, program audit, motion moves with reversal and ramp, control of multi-axis synchronous motion, and multiaxis spline interpolation. DELTA TAU PMAC also bristles with available encoder options, including incremental, absolute, and bi-directional motors, as well as an array of additional motor/drive options. In addition, PMAC uses compact flash technology for data storage and archiving. The status of all inputs and outputs can be monitored through system diagnostics, and DELTA TAU PMAC can be configured to send signals via TCP/IP or receive signals over Ethernet or RS-485 networks. Finally, unit maintenance is easily accomplished with the built in diagnostic capabilities provided by PMAC. The PowerPMAC supports on-line or off-line debugging and has automatic recovery from power loss. DELTA TAU PMAC also supports remote monitoring, diagnostics, and I/O status status. This makes troubleshooting easier, and more time efficient. In summary, PMAC is a powerful, user-friendly and reliable motion controller that is suitable for a number of motion control applications. DELTA TAU PMAC supports on-line diagnostic capabilities and the capability of sending signals over networks. This makes PMAC a cost-effective, reliable and flexible motion control machine.
