TERADYNE MicroFlex is a final test equipment designed to ensure that components of printed circuit boards and other electronic systems are functioning properly and accurately. This testing system is highly accurate, fast and efficient at collecting detailed data on the performance of components. MicroFlex is a cost effective test platform, providing excellent data accuracy and full statistical analysis capabilities in an automated setup. Utilizing powerful real-time testing algorithms and on-board signal processing, it quickly and accurately tests components at the board level to ensure that all parts meet the necessary specifications. The unit has been designed to be user friendly, providing an intuitive and easy to use interface for rapid set-up and diagnostics. The testing machine utilizes a combination of electrical, mechanical, optical and thermal testing techniques to insure precise measurements and accurate results. Electrical testing can be performed by selectively inducing voltages and measuring current or voltage at different points on the board. Mechanical testing is used to measure the physical integrity and operation of components, and can be done under static or dynamic conditions. Optical testing is used to verify that components are functioning correctly and observes the laser emissions from components in action. Thermal testing measures thermal properties of the components while in use, to make sure they are not producing excessive heat and damaging the tool. TERADYNE MicroFlex can be used either in a manual configuration, or a fully-automated throughput-based asset. In the manual setting, the user can utilize a wide range of diagnostic tools including an oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, frequency counter and digital storage oscilloscope to analyze results and troubleshoot problems. In a fully-automated model, the equipment controls the test process and performs in-depth data analysis for detailed reports. MicroFlex can be operated either in a laboratory environment or on the production line, and it is compliant with industry standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-630. The system can also be integrated with other test systems and software, allowing users to customize and expand their testing capabilities. The unit is also available with multiple optional accessories, such as a separate power supply, a color display, a specialized test head and an external data acquisition machine.
