ABBOTT Cell Dyn 3000SL is a hematology analyzer and monoclonal antibody reagent system designed for routine in vitro diagnostic use of measuring the whole blood parameters of patients for determining the health of their blood systems. ABBOTT Cell Dyne 3000SL is comprised of the following components: a flow cytometer, a vertical rotor and an autoloader. The flow cytometer is an automated device used for analyzing and detecting the presence, amounts, and/or patterns of macromolecules present in a blood sample. It determines the type and number of cells in a sample by measuring physical characteristics, such as size, granularity, and light scatter. The flow cytometer utilizes a series of optical filters, lasers, and detectors that divide the light signal produced by the cells into separate channels. These channels are then used to determine the different cell populations that are present in the sample. The vertical rotor is a grinder used in conjunction with the flow cytometer to homogenize the sample before analysis. It consists of a rotor containing eight blades that spin at a high speed and induce shear force on the sample, providing a homogeneous mixture that can be analyzed by the flow cytometer. The rotor is also adjustable, allowing for control of the homogenization process to determine the desired particle size for analysis. The autoloader is a device that collects the sample from the sample tube and loaded it into the rotor. The autoloader consists of a tube chute, a cap opener, and a hopper, which allow for automatic and controlled loading of sample tubes into the rotor. Cell Dyn 3000SL is programmed to run 20 routine tests, as well as 6 specialty tests, each of which is designed to detect the different types of cells present in a blood sample. These tests include red cell indices, white cell indices, differential leukocyte count, mean corpuscular volume and additional specialty tests. The results of these tests are computer-generated and can be printed or viewed on the machine. ABBOTT Cell Dyn 3000SL provides convenience, accuracy, and speed for laboratories performing routine hematology exams. Its sophisticated technologies, such as the flow cytometer, vertical rotor, and autoloader, allow for a more precise and efficient analysis of blood samples. The system is programmed to perform a wide range of tests, making it suitable for both clinical and research applications.
