BD™ BD BIOSCIENCES FACSCalibur™ is a flow cytometer and cell sorter used for precise measurement of physical and chemical characteristics of individual cells or particles in suspension. The multi-laser cell sorter is an automated equipment that helps research professionals analyze and sort particles in suspension. It has four types of laser guides - red, blue, violet and ultraviolet and 4 PMT detectors - 488nm, 585nm, 676nm, and 780nm. The instrument offers the capacity to measure cell surface, intracellular proteins, and functional proteins such as CD14, CD4, CD3 and others. With four lasers, each of which has its own set of spectral parameters, the instrument is capable of using multiple wavelengths and spectral detection to diagnose cell attributes, allowing for the analysis of more than two levels simultaneously. FACSCalibur technology optimizes the sorting process, and its Autosort® mode can sort cells into as many as eight sample tubes or 12 micro-titre plates. BD™ BD BIOSCIENCES FACSCalibur™ flow cytometer uses the latest optical technology, advanced blue and near-UV lasers, combined with high-performance, multispectral fluidics, hydrodynamic focusing and beam optics. It offers users a wide selection of filters and choices in detection sensitivity and throughput.
