ILLUMINA MiSeq is a lab equipment and accessory used for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). NGS allows researchers to investigate genetic material such as deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in greater detail than ever before. MiSeq is a two-part platform which includes a reagent cartilage and a sequencer. The reagent cartilage prepares samples for sequencing by performing PCR-based library preparation to generate DNA fragments. These fragments are then sequenced using ILLUMINA MiSeq sequencer. ILLUMINA MiSeq sequencer can perform rapid and accurate processing. It utilizes a multi-lane flow cell design which allows it to produce up to 1 billion sequence reads per run. The sequencer is also capable of sequencing up to 2,500 different samples in a single 12-hour run. MiSeq sequencer is also highly efficient and can produce up to 2.25 gigabases of sequence information per run. Additionally, ILLUMINA MiSeq can provide approximately 1Gb of sequence data in 4 hours and can produce read lengths up to 600 bases.
