PERSEPTIVE BIOSYSTEMS IPGphor is a laboratory equipment and accessory designed to facilitate the study of proteins in the lab. IPGphor is an immobilized pH gradient (IPG) platform for two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (2D PAGE). It offers enhanced resolution and simplified sample preparation for proteomic and other complex analyses. The equipment is capable of handling up to 24 samples simultaneously for improved lab efficiency and productivity. PERSEPTIVE BIOSYSTEMS IPGphor includes a 3-stage power supply and a cooling tray that helps to maintain an ideal working temperature for the electrofocusing process. An active three-stage system protects the unit from overload, while the large control chamber accommodates multiple electrodes to avoid buffer and current imbalance. Sensors embedded in the chamber walls detect any changes in temperature that may affect the imaging process. IPGphor also features a built-in Sample Mapping software, which helps to computerize the entire 2D PAGE process. The software's intuitive interface makes it easy to set up, run, and analyze experiments. It features programs and files specifically designed for 2D PAGE and reproing, plus a wide range of analytical functions that enable operation and data analysis. To use PERSEPTIVE BIOSYSTEMS IPGphor, samples are pipetted into wells preloaded with a pH gradient IPG strip, which is then inserted into the cooling tray of the machine. An ionic buffer is used to create the necessary electrical gradient for the iEGF process. Samples can either be focused manually or running automatically by a program. Once the IPG strip is inserted into the cooling chamber, the chamber is sealed and the lid is clipped. IPGphor then charges and monitors the strip until the optimum focusing point is reached. PERSEPTIVE BIOSYSTEMS IPGphor can perform gel electrophoresis using 24- or 30-cm IPG strips. The length of the strip determines the resolution, and multiple IPG strips can be combined to reduce the total run time. Once focusing is complete, the IPG strip can be transferred to a gel and stained for analysis. To maximize productivity, IPGphor also features multiple buffer reservoirs that store ready-made buffers for fast and easy sample preparation. A low-voltage stirrer is provided to speed up the cell lysing process, while a multichannel pipetter facilitates the pipetting process. The tool also includes a T-shaped buffer holder for easy exchanging of stripes and loading of samples. PERSEPTIVE BIOSYSTEMS IPGphor is an ideal tool for researchers who need enhanced resolution and improved performance. Its advanced features make it a powerful and reliable platform for 2D PAGE and other proteomics applications. The built-in Sample Mapping software makes IPGphor an ideal choice for high-throughput laboratories.
