THERMO FISHER SCIENTIFIC PikoReal 96 is a laboratory equipment and accessory designed to accurately, reliably and quickly measure real-time PCR amplification and detection of fluorescent signals from microfluidic devices. It is made up of a high-precision visible optics system, an eight-lane thermocycler unit, and a 96-well microfluidic cassette. The design of PikoReal 96 takes advantage of forced-air cooling technology. This technology uses forced convective cooling to increase the efficiency of thermal management, thus reducing the temperature time constants of THERMO FISHER SCIENTIFIC PikoReal 96 system. This ensures accuracy in sample and reagent temperatures, and consistency in reaction kinetics. The heated lid is designed to optimize temperature uniformity across the samples. The thermocycler unit has an eight-lane emulator with adjustable temperature gradient, up to 200°C, as well as automatic calibration capability. The 96-well microfluidic cassette consists of ultra-low dead volume wells with a volume of between 1.5-6μL, allowing for the individual control of each well in multichannel applications. The cassette is compatible with polycarbonate membranes, common for use in DNA sequencing and single-cell qPCR reactions. It also has an integrated automatic loading mechanism, ensuring precise filling in seconds. In addition, PikoReal 96 supports PCR applications, including real-time data collection, multiplex PCR, melting curve analysis, quantitative PCR, and digital PCR. THERMO FISHER SCIENTIFIC PikoReal 96 features an advanced onboard software, the RT-PCR Control Software (RCS), with intuitive user-interface, which significantly reduces the time needed for hard-wiring and programming.
