WATERS Acquity is a set of lab equipment and accessories that is used to facilitate analyses in a variety of laboratory settings. Acquity is comprised of a variety of devices, including up to 4 autosamplers, an autosampler rack, a programmable column heater, an isocratic pump, a UV/vis spectrophotometric detector, a quaternary pump, a binary pump, a variable wavelength detector, and a fraction collector. All of these devices are connected to and controlled by a Windows-based UPLC software, allowing the user to customize their setup and control the flow of data. The autosampler rack provides a secure and convenient method of storing, organizing, and managing the samples and associated data. The autosamplers are designed to directly introduce samples into a variety of chromatographic columns, while the programmable column heater allows the user to control column temperature on an iterative basis. The isocratic pump is a fully integrated device used to regulate the flow and composition of mobile phases in chromatographic processes. The UV/vis spectrophotometric detector captures absorbance information from the chromatograph effluent to provide a measure of sample concentration. This device is capable of detecting a range of organic compounds, such as amino acids and carbohydrates, as well as a variety of metals. The quaternary pump is capable of changing solvent composition on-the-fly, helping to achieve the best possible separation of sample components. It also has a number of safety features that enable the user to quickly adjust operating conditions in the event of system problems. The binary pump is an automated multi-channel device used to control the flow of eluents in LC experiments. It is capable of introducing up to four sample components into the target column in predetermined ratios. The variable wavelength detector provides qualitative and quantitative information of sample components under various conditions, such as different wavelengths, pressure, and temperature. The fraction collector captures the fractions that pass through the detector and disperses them into a collection vessel separately. WATERS Acquity provides a comprehensive set of equipment for a variety of analytical processes, allowing the user to customize their setup to fit their needs. This set of devices works together to provide a streamlined, high-performance method of collecting, organizing, and analyzing data, making it ideal for a number of research and development applications.
