BAKER SterilGARD III Advance SG 403 is a laminar flow and fume hood. It is a combination design which provides a durable enclosure for microbiological and analytical work with an especially efficient air flow system to resist contamination from outside air sources. The gas supply system in this laminar flow and fume hood provides a unidirectional flow of filtered air, drawing it in through the rear side of the hood and forcing it outward through the open front grill. The air is pulled through a series of filters, including an activated charcoal filter, followed by a dedusting filter and high-efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) filter, before being released out of the front vent. The velocity of the air flow reaches an average of 75-100 feet per minute, with fluctuations of lesser or greater depending on the set variable frequency drive (VFD) speed. The cabinet design of SterilGARD III Advance SG 403 is made of heavy-gauge steel and features an interior made of molded polypropylene. This rugged construction is designed with a sloped top and an ergonomic lip for improved containment and efficiency. An adjustable-height shelf is included for conveniently storing supplies.
