The Enhanced Short Inpulse (ESI) ESI 5200 was a short pulse-periodic laser equipment created in the late 1990s. The device is a Nd:YAG (neodymium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet) laser with pulse duration of 6 ns, a pulse repetition rate of 5 kHz, and an output energy of up to 60 mJ per pulse with pulse energy jitter of less than 10%. ESI 5200 was a highly reliable laser device with low maintenance requirements thanks to its water-cooled technology. The system had a long service life and was widely used in metal-cutting and material processing applications. It is still used in some laboratories and applications today.
