Laser repair systems.
ESI 9825 is a laser resonator that generates some of the most powerful laser output available. It has a two-stage design, with a intra-cavity frequency quadrupler that allows it to achieve wavelengths in the deep ultraviolet (UV) range, from 243 to 400 nanometers (nm). The design also includes a pulse-doubling facility that permits two consecutive output pulses in opposite directions, allowing the device to achieve the highest peak powers of any solid-state laser available. 9825 is compact in size, and fairly simple to operate. Its housing measures 79x26x38 cm, and it can be easily installed in laboratory settings. The resonator is based on neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) as the gain crystal, and the unit is capable of operating at a variety of pulse energies and pulse lengths. ESI 9825 operates using a flashlamp to excite the lasing medium, and this can be powered using a separate generator or by direct connection to mains power. Within the resonator, the laser beam passes through several optical elements, including two lenses, a total reflector, and a diffraction grating. The beam path can also include a focusing lens and a rotating mirror, which helps to optimize the beam characteristics. 9825 has a hydrostatic alignment system that eliminates any vibrations from the optical elements. The optical components are mounted in a temperature-controlled, vacuum-sealed chamber to ensure repeatability in operation and consistent output. The vacuum prevents oxygen or other impurities from entering the cavity and degrading the beam quality. ESI 9825 also has automatic control features for power settings, pulse-length settings, and power cycling, which allow the user to easily tailor the laser output to their specific application requirements. 9825 has a wide range of applications, including medical and non-medical laser treatments, pulsed laser deposition, lithography, laser marking, and precision welding and cutting. Owing to its superior power output, ESI 9825 is also ideal for industrial machining, as well as research applications such as spectroscopy, ultrafast chemical dynamics, and light-activated processes.
