ALLSTEEL 1/2-20 is a machine tool specifically designed for drilling and taps internal threads. The machine is a combination of both drill press and tapping machine. It is a versatile machine capable of carrying out both functions with accuracy and precision especially when used for machining of high-strength materials such as titanium and stainless steel. The Drill/Tapping machine is powered by a 3HP motor and has a 1/2" capacity spindle and spindle speed of 1800 revolutions per minute. The spindle is supplied with a bronze thrust bearing to ensure the highest of tolerances are maintained when tapping. It also features an adjustable travel stop, ideal for repeat operations on larger parts. The spindle is equipped with a cam-loaded springed type hand-operated sleeve, operated by a foot switch. The headstock of the machine is made from high grade stainless steel and is mounted on a rigid cast iron column with a hardened and ground spindle, ensuring maximum stability and long life. Additionally, the column is precisely machined to maintain parallelism to the table, which is adjustable to allow for perfect alignment with the workpiece. ALLSTEEL Drill/Tapping machine features a locking lever which locks the spindle head in place when not in use. This unique feature allows the user to securely hold a drill chuck or tap in place without having to manually secure it. This greatly improves operator safety by eliminating the risk of accidental loosening of the chuck or tap during operation.
