HAAS VF-9 is a powerful 5-axis machining centre from leading machine tool manufacturer HAAS Automation. This machine is capable of producing a complete machined part in just one operation. VF-9 has a 50" x 26" x 25" (1270x660x635 mm) table and it can handle parts up to 1000 lbs (455 kg) and offers up to 30 tool capacity. HAAS VF-9 is equipped with a 24-station carousel-style tool changer and offers a 12,000-rpm spindle with maximum horsepower of 30/22. It can perform rapid traverses at up to 1120 inch/min (28.4 m/min) with 12 MRO (Main Rotary Axis) options from 0-90 degrees. The machine also offers 12,000-rpm spindle speed for maximum cutting power and an optional high-speed spindle makes spindle-driven tooling a viable possibility. VF-9 has several advanced features. It is equipped with HAAS high-speed machining control and automatic tool presetter with tool wear sensing. It also features rigid tapping capability, wireless Intuitive Programming Equipment (IPS) and programmable coolant nozzles. The machine tool also provides integrated applications, making it easier to programme and control the machining cycle. This includes a HAAS conversational CNC, which allows the operator to quickly and easily create programs by simply entering the desired values, parameters, and program code in the graphical interface. In addition, the integrated CAD/CAM system allows users to get the most out of their machines. The unit is powered by ESPRIT, a feature-based CAD/CAM software that is integrated directly into the control device and offers 3D machining, including 3+2 axis advanced contouring and hole milling. The machine also features a choice of three different control options (FANUC, Mitsubishi and HAAS) and incorporates temperature-controlled coolant machine with pressure and vacuum monitoring. It also has an electronic handwheel for manual operation, built-in safety interlocks and a digital scroll display. Overall, HAAS VF-9 is a great choice for mid to high-precision machining. It is well-suited for machining jobs where accuracy and part repeatability are critical, as well as for complex 3D contouring and hole milling applications. The machine also offers impressive rapid traverse speeds and high power to help reduce production time.
