ADTEC ACP 630A Mask Aligner is an essential tool for the semiconductor industry and is used to align photomasks to a wafer, in order to accurately expose patterns for the fabrication of microchips. It consists of a two-axis aligner, a stage controller and an illumination system. The alignment process starts with a blank semiconductor wafer being placed onto the stage controller, which allows precise horizontal and vertical motion. When a photomask, which is typically made out of quartz and coated with a light-sensitive material, is placed over the wafer it needs to be accurately and precisely aligned. The two-axis aligner is used to achieve this and it consists of linear and rotational motors that provide dynamic alignment. The illumination system is composed of two components: the UV-Lamp and the Stop-Prism. The UV-Lamp is responsible for supplying ultraviolet light, enabling the exposure of the photomask to the wafer. It features a beam-spreader that evenly distributes the light across the photomask. The Stop-Prism is used to create an infrared beam that precisely aligns the focus to the mark points on the wafer. This further improves the accuracy of the mask aligning process. ACP 630A is an all-in-one mask aligner that is capable of aligning with +/- 2 μm accuracy. It is build with a robust design, making it suitable for industrial applications and 24/7 operations. It is also equipped with a high-resolution camera that allows an even better alignment of the photomask with the wafer, minimizing inaccuracy and increasing the efficiency of the process.
