MELLES GRIOT 58-805 is a Mask Aligner designed to rapidly deliver films, foil masked-wafers, and non-contact images of masks and wafers. This Mask Aligner is manufactured by MELLES GRIOT Corporation and is based on their patented technology. The device utilizes an optical layout similar to a microscope for a more accurate alignment. 58-805 offers two distinct exposure modes to meet the precision and process requirements of a variety of applications from MEMS and optoelectronics to materials research. It has a long travel, one-to-one imaging exposure mode for registration accuracy down to 0.2 μm which allows for low-distortion registration. A fully automatic programmable exposure mode ensures greater exposure accuracy, faster exposure time, and up to sixteen exposures in a single run. This Mask Aligner utilizes alignment devices and sensors to precisely align wafers, substrate holders, and masks. The attachment of the wafer is automatic and run time is fast. The alignment and focus mechanisms are manually operated and have an accuracy of 0.2 μm x/y and 0.1 μm z. Additionally, a quick alignment equipment and a patented automatic de-focusing system are features of MELLES GRIOT 58-805. The image and pattern exposure unit of the Mask Aligner contains a mercury short arc and a xenon short arc lamp lighting machine. The optics group contains two simultaneous activation of two lamps and the tool has two exposure parameters, one for each lamp. The maximum input power for both lamps is 175 watts and the asset also has a manual and motorized motorized focus mechanism designed for 0.15 μm focus accuracy. 58-805 Mask Aligner utilizes a PLC based, color touch screen controller and software for user interactivity. Processing parameters for the exposure, alignment, de-focusing and post-exposure analysis can all be entered into the controller. Additionally, a range of sensors are attached to the aligner in order to maximize accuracy and strengthen the processes. Overall, MELLES GRIOT 58-805 is a powerful and efficient Mask Aligner, capable of quickly and accurately aligning wafers and masks while also providing exciting features such as low-distortion registration, automatic programmable exposure modes and de-focusing systems. This state-of-the-art device is most commonly used in MEMS and optoelectronics applications, although it is suitable for a variety of other applications as well.
