LEICA TCS SP is a laser scanning confocal microscope that provides high-resolution imaging of fluorescent and biological samples. It is equipped with four state-of-the-art laser lines (405, 488, 561, and 633 nm), allowing for the exploration of a wide wavelength range for optimal detection. Furthermore, the microscope offers a powerful PIPS detector, which is a hybrid technology with high detection sensitivity allowing for the detection of even weakly fluorescent signals. The use of a unique Objective ChromAquin modules allow for the combination of multiple dyes in the same sample, maximising spectral resolution in the detection of multiple fluorophores. Furthermore, the use of a variable zoom system allows for a diverse range of imaging, from low magnification overviews to more precise higher power zoom images. TCS SP is also able to offer an increased speed using the unique Resonant Scanner and CSU-X1 spinning disc, enabling faster stream and Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (FRAP) imaging. Additionally, the galvanometer scan module provides a wider field of view with low noise for reliable quantification with a frame rate of up to 5 kHz. The SP microscope is also compatible with Specialized Microscope System (SMS) technology and modular accessories, allowing for the efficient interchange of components such as objectives, optics, filters and detectors. The optional MultiPosition Detector (MPD) module allows for the capture of multiple fields of view in one acquisition, enabling quick 3D imaging. Overall, LEICA TCS SP confocal microscope provides easy use, high-resolution imaging with multiple imaging modalities and an array of accessories for maximised sample versatility. In addition, its streamlined operation, the availability of light source emission, fast imaging and offering of powerful detection tools makes it ideal for biomedical research facilities.
