NIKON SMZ-660 is a stereomicroscope that is equipped with optical zoom, which allows users to magnify objects from 7x to 145x without needing to change objectives. With a convenient variable beam splitter, users can alternate between brightfield, darkfield, and fluorescent observation. This zoom stereo microscope has a 0.8x to 37.9x zoom range, and also has a 5.2:1 zoom ratio. NIKON SMZ 660 delivers clear, high resolution images with excellent depth of field. The working distance is adjustable from 100.5 to 162mm to ensure that the distance between the specimen and microscope meets user needs. At a magnification of 7x, the field of view is 65mm, while at 145x, the field of view is 4.2mm. SMZ-660 comes equipped with a pair of Widefield 10X/22 mm eyepieces, and a diopter adjustment that allows the viewer to fine-tune the image. For convenience, the eyepieces can be angled up to 45° to reduce fatigue during long observation sessions. The microscope also includes two halogen bulbs, one for incident illumination for brightfield and darkfield observation, and one for fluorescent illumination. SMZ 660 features a sturdy aluminum base and frame that can support a wide range of accessories, including teaching heads, a trinocular observation head, additional stand components, and imaging systems. Optional NIKON Digital Sight DS-U2 color CCD cameras can be added to create still images and videos of the specimen being observed. The microscope can also be connected to a video monitor to project images for classroom demonstrations and presentations. NIKON SMZ-660 is suitable for a number of disciplines within science, technology, engineering, medicine, and more. This microscope offers users the ability to view detailed magnifications of scientific specimens that are often too small to be seen with the naked eye. It is an ideal choice for universities, hospitals, and research laboratories that require high levels of image clarity and detail.
