OLYMPUS OLS3100 is a state-of-the-art Scanning Laser Confocal Microscope (SLCM) designed to bring the advantages of nonlinear optics into the traditional laser scanning microscope format. OLYMPUS OLS-3100 features an advanced two-photon detection system as well as advanced spatial light distribution and temporal pulse shaping capabilities, all designed to provide superior imaging capabilities. With its advanced optics, fast response times, and extremely high resolutions, OLS3100 is ideal for both single molecule imaging and advanced material characterization studies. OLS-3100 utilizes a novel detection method known as deconvolved nonlinear imaging spectroscopy (DNIS) which enables the capture of higher resolution images than traditional fluorescence microscopy. This technique relies on highly precise three-dimensional laser scanning with an optimal spatial resolution of 0.35 μm. The light source is a High NA LED Illumination Unit (HILU), which is capable of generating both continuous and pulsed laser illumination with a wavelength range of 341 nm-850 nm. OLYMPUS OLS3100's fast scan speed of up to 4,000 Hz allows it to capture two-dimensional images rapidly, that are of a comparable resolution to traditional fluorescence imaging. To further enhance its imaging capabilities, OLYMPUS OLS-3100 utilizes several proprietary technologies developed by OLYMPUS. Its Adaptive Wavefront Technology (AWFT) utilizes a special PLDF (Patterned Laser Diode Film) to shape the beam of light to an optimal waveform for imaging. It supports both multi-channel (up to fifteen channels) and single channel imaging.
