SONOSCAN D-9000 is a scanning acoustic microscope which is used to examine the internal microstructures of materials with high resolution. It utilizes focused ultrasonic transducers to generate high frequency sound waves which are then used to measure the material's acoustic properties. Such analysis can reveal structural and structural defect information with submicron resolution. SONOSCAN D9000 features an integrated design, offering superior imaging quality with minimal noise floor, and its wide frequency range of 2-30 MHz enables high-resolution measurements of elastic properties and surface topography. The system is composed of a scanning manipulator, probe, high-frequency amplifier, pulse generating unit, control unit, and the computer-based main unit. A scanning manipulator can be attached to the main unit, allowing for the coordination of the sample positioning, scanning and recording of acoustic images. A probe is used for generating and receiving ultrasound signals, and it is secured on the manipulator arm. The built in high-frequency amplifier amplifies the signals before it is sent to the pulse generating unit. The pulse generating unit is responsible for converting the continuous wave signals generated by the probe into pulses and sending them to the sample. After pulses are sent to the sample, they return to the probe, where they are detected and amplified before being sent to the control unit. The control unit is responsible for processing and transferring the data to the main computer, where they can be analyzed and displayed. The computer-based main unit is responsible for controlling the system, analyzing data, and displaying results. It features an intuitive user interface which allows users to visualize the microstructures and data associated with the measurements obtained. Overall, D 9000 is a reliable, easy-to-use scanning acoustic microscope which provides reliable imaging quality, high-resolution measurements of elastic properties and surface topography, and a simple user interface. It is an invaluable tool for a wide range of research and industrial applications.
