DIMA FP-500 is a PC Board Assembly and Manufacturing equipment designed to provide reliable and automated solutions for small- and medium-volume production of through-hole, surface mount and mixed technology printed circuit board assemblies. The unit consists of a highly precise board handler which can align, track and orientate printed circuit boards of up to 500x500mm in size with an accuracy of approximately 0.2mm. As the boards traverse from one process station to the next, a vision machine inspects entrance and exit locations. The tool is designed with a total of 3 production process stages; During the first stage, components can be placed into populated areas of the PCB in either through-hole or surface mount configuration. In the second stage, soldering takes place with a precise beam angle and wave soldering nozzle temperature control. The final stage of the asset is an automated optical inspection process where each component is located using a 3D scan and a detailed report is generated to ensure precise placement and soldering of each component. FP-500 systems are preconfigured to allow complete customization of production requirements based on parts type and board density. This includes solder and paste dispensing, component mount, placement, optical inspection and deflux options as well as thermal profile management. The control platform is powered by a Microsoft Windows 7 Operating Model, and provides user friendly operation, as well as customizable workstations, automated reporting and maintenance tracking. All data is stored on a secure, internal server and allows for real-time production information.
